Effie Mona Mack


Effie Mona Mack was an American historian, educator, and textbook co-author. She is said to be the only person to receive a Doctorate degree in History of Nevada. The Mack Social Science building at the University of Nevada, Reno is named in her honor. She received a bachelor's degree from Smith College, a Master's at the University of Nevada, and a Ph.D. from the University of California. She taught at the University of Nevada, Reno, and at Nevada Southern, which became the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
