Eidi (gift)
Eidi is a gift that is usually given to children by elder relatives and family friends as part of the celebration of the two Muslim holidays: Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.
The most common type of eid is a gift of money to younger relatives and by giving eid.
It is typically given to:
- Children by the other elders of the family
- Wives/Husbands by their husbands/wives
- Mothers/Fathers and mothers-in-law by their sons
- Friends by their friends
- Sisters/Brothers by all family members.
