El Oro Municipality, Durango
El Oro is one of the 39 municipalities of Durango, in north-western Mexico. The municipal seat lies at Santa María del Oro. The municipality covers an area of 10,041 km².
As of 2010, the municipality had a total population of 11,320, up from 10,041 as of 2005.
The municipality had 113 localities, the largest of which was: Santa María del Oro, classified as urban.
