Elaine Aron


Elaine N. Aron, Ph.D. is a clinical, research psychologist and author who has studied high sensitivity personalities since 1990. She has published six books on the subject, including The  which has been translated into 21 languages and sold over a million copies.
Her books include: The , The , The , The , , and The , as well as in the leading journals in her field. 
Aron earned her M.A. from York University in Toronto in clinical psychology and her Ph.D. at Pacifica Graduate Institute in clinical depth psychology as well as interning at the C. G. Jung Institute in San Francisco. She and her husband Arthur have been married for 56 years. Dr. Arthur Aron is a graduate of the University of Toronto and a psychology professor. They are well known for their study of love and close relationships. She maintains a small psychotherapy practice in Mill Valley, CA.

Education

Aron completed her undergraduate studies, at the University of California, Berkeley earning the Phi Beta Kappa distinction, and later earned an Master of Arts in clinical psychology from York University and a Doctor of Philosophy in clinical depth psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute. She also interned at the C. G. Jung Institute in San Francisco.
