Emilio Alarcos Llorach - philologist and writer from Spain. He was born on April 22, 1922 in Salamanca and died on January 26, 1998 in Oviedo. He graduated from the University of Madrid, the University of Valladolid. He was awarded the honorary doctorate of the University of Valladolid, the honorary doctorate of Seville University, the honorary doctorate of the University of Salamanca, the honorary doctorate of the University of Valencia, the Grand Cross of the Civil Order of Alfonso X the Wise.
