Emily Axford


Emily Axford is an American actress, writer and producer. She is best known for her various roles in CollegeHumor videos, her role as Emily on the truTV comedy, Adam Ruins Everything, based on the CollegeHumor series of the same name, and for her role on the Pop TV original Hot Date, co-starring with her husband, Brian Murphy. Axford and Murphy co-wrote HEY, U UP? : How to Turn Your Booty Call into Your Emergency Contact, a satirical relationship advice book that was published in 2018.

Early life and college

Axford grew up in the suburbs of Albany, New York. She went on to study at George Washington University, where she studied Religion and graduated in 2007. At George Washington University, she was a part of the co-ed improv troupe, ReceSs. After college, Axford studied at Upright Citizens Brigade in New York City and then Los Angeles.

Other work

From 2011 to 2017, Axford was a writer and actress for CollegeHumor. In 2017, Axford and her husband Brian K. Murphy began working as executive producers and actors on the Pop TV original Hot Date. The previous incarnation of the show was a web series for CollegeHumor. The TV program's second season premiered in September 2019.
Axford was also one of the hosts of "8-Bit Book Club" alongside Murphy and Caldwell Tanner, a podcast where they read books about video games. She is now a player in the HeadGum podcast "Not Another D&D Podcast" with Murphy, Tanner, and Jake Hurwitz. In the first main campaign which ended on May 9th, 2020, Axford played Moonshine Cybin, a Crick elf druid. In their monthly campaign, she plays Onyx Lumiere, a scourge Aasimar warlock. She is also a player on Dimension 20, a Dungeons & Dragons actual play show from CollegeHumor's streaming service Dropout. Her characters include Figueroth "Fig" Faeth, Sofia Bicicleta, Princess Jet Rocks, Saccharina Frostwhip.
