Emma McBride


Emma Margaret McBride is an Australian politician. She was elected as the member for Dobell in the Australian House of Representatives in the 2016 election after having been an unsuccessful candidate for the same seat in the 2013 election.
McBride was raised in Wyong, New South Wales. She holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Sydney and a graduate diploma in management from Flinders University. Before entering parliament, McBride was chief pharmacist at Wyong Hospital, and served on the Wyong Shire Council. Her father is former New South Wales MP Grant McBride.
McBride's paternal grandfather was born in Northern Ireland. She obtained Irish citizenship by descent in 2001, but renounced it prior to the 2013 election.
