Eric Adams is an illustrator, writer, cartoonist Language Arts Teacher and graphic designer. Best known in comics as the creator of the series Lackluster World, which was nominated for the 2004 Howard E. Day Prize, the 2008 and 2010 Space Prize, and is the winner of the 2010 Champion City Award for Best Limited Series. In 2006, he collaborated with writer Chris Arrant on the comic Stuart, published in the comic anthology Four Stories. He also wrote a ten-part column for Newsarama.com called Sequential Smarts about marketing your own comic.
In 2008, he collaborated with artist Joanna Estep to publish the short science fiction comic "Reflection".
In 2015 he undertook a Kickstarter campaign to publish a hard cover collection of previous issues of Lackluster World with 100 pages of new material, which he referred to as Lackluster World, the Directors Cut. Between March and April 2015 he received pledges of $10,657 of a target of $10,000 from 247 backers. The projected completion date was estimated as August 2015. Adams noted that there were few risks given that the majority of the material was previously published.
There followed 23 updates. In August he reported that the book was finished and required only the scanning of some early source material and an essay. No comments were forthcoming after January 3, 2018. The project remains unfinished; some backer's money has been returned.
