Eric Jensen (sociologist)


Dr Eric Jensen is an associate professor of the Department of Sociology at the University of Warwick, who specialises in social research. His research has focused in the topics of non-visitor research, audience research and evaluation for informal learning and heritage institutions.

Academic career

Eric Jensen holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Cambridge. Jensen's journal articles have been published in Public Understanding of Science, Culture and Psychology, New Genetics & Society, Media, Culture & Society, and Psychology & Society. He wrote two chapters in Investigating Science Communication in the Information Age, published by the Oxford University Press. He is co-editor of Culture & Social Change: Transforming Society through the Power of Ideas, and contributing two original theoretical chapters.
Jensen is an Associate Education Fellow at Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, he has advised and contributed to the EU-Zoos-XXI project at Durrell Wildlife Park. As a researcher, Jensen has contributed to recent global survey projects, including evaluation of "Biodiversity Is Us".
