Eure, North Carolina
Eure is an unincorporated community in mid-western Gates County, North Carolina. It lies at an elevation of 23 feet. It's only about 15 minutes away from Merchants Millpond State Park, and about 40 minutes away from the Great Dismal Swamp.
The community of Eure has a VFD, The Eure Volunteer Fire Department, which has been serving its community since 1980.
The Train House, run by Richard and Peggy Pearce, is open every night for the month of December, excepting Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. It exhibits model trains in a world created by the Pearces themselves, an impressive display of old fashioned toys, advertisements and other objects from the past, and a little room lined with a collection of Barbies.
