European Film Academy People's Choice Award for Best European Film
The People's Choice Award for Best European Film is one of the categories for the European Film Awards presented annually by the European Film Academy. It was first awarded in 1997, when Peter Cattaneo's film The Full Monty won it, and has been given out since. The category was named "Best European Film" until 1997, when it became the "Best European Director". In 2006, the name of the award changed back to "Best European Film." The winners are chosen each year by the general public. Pedro Almodóvar has been the big winner with three awards.1990s
