Everybody's Golf (1997 video game)


Everybody's Golf is the first game in the Everybody's Golf series. It was released on 17 July 1997 in Japan, 30 April 1998 in North America and 1 June 1998 in Europe. The North American release was renamed Hot Shots Golf. It was the only game in the series to be developed by Camelot Software Planning, which later developed the Mario Golf series.

Reception

The game received an average score of 81.50% at GameRankings, based on an aggregate of 14 reviews. Game Informer ranked it as the 87th best game made for their 100th issue in 2001 despite past criticisms that it was not a golf simulator. They praised it for its balance between simplicity and complexity.
Next Generation rated it four stars out of five, and stated that "it's just the type of golf game that's sure to liven up any PlayStation party and be enjoyed by gamers and golf fans alike."
According to Weekly Famitsu, Everybody's Golf was Japan's sixth-best-selling game of 1997, with sales of 1.02 million units.
