FIAMM


FIAMM is a multinational company that deals with the production and sale of batteries and accumulators for motor vehicles and industrial applications. FIAMM is also used as a brand name for goods that are manufactured or sold by companies that are currently or previously part of the group. FIAMM Energy Technology S.p.A. is part of Hitachi Chemical since 2017.

History

The company was founded in 1942 as an Italian factory for automotive batteries in Montecchio Maggiore. In 1950 FIAMM exhibited together with automobile manufacturers at trade fairs and supplied batteries for large brands such as the scooter manufacturer Lambretta or Ferrari. In the 1970s FIAMM became an OEM for European automobile manufacturers. Since 1980 the company exported stationary batteries to the USA and presented itself as a sponsor in motorsport. In January 2017, the European Commission approved the merger of FIAMM with Hitachi Chemical.
