Felicity Buchan


Felicity Christiana Buchan is a British Conservative Party politician serving as the Member of Parliament for Kensington since 2019.

Early life and education

Buchan was born and raised in Aberdeenshire and went to the local comprehensive school, Fraserburgh Academy. She went to Christ Church, Oxford University to read Law on an Exhibition.
She has lived in various parts of Kensington and Chelsea for 25 years.

Professional career

Felicity Buchan's professional career was in financial services. Her responsibility was to raise significant finance for countries, large companies and global agencies such as the World Bank. Employers include Bank of America and JP Morgan.
After leaving the financial services industry, she volunteered at a children's charity in North Kensington and is the chair of governors of Bousfield Primary School, a local school in South Kensington.

Political career

Buchan contested South Down in the 2015 general election, coming 7th with 0.7% of the vote, and South Shields in 2017, where she came 2nd with 25.9% of the vote.
In the 2019 general election, Buchan contested Kensington for the Conservative Party. She won the seat from Emma Dent Coad with a majority of 150 votes, representing a swing of 0.2%.
