Ferny Crofts Scout Activity Centre is one of a number of The Scout Association's Activity Centres in the United Kingdom. It is both owned and managed by Hampshire Scouting. Ferny Crofts is a 31 acre Scout Activity Centre in the heart of the New Forest National Park. With a stunning location, Ferny Crofts boasts a whole host of outdoor activities, camping for 500 people, and a variety of indoor accommodation. The Centre is located in the heart of the New ForestNational Park, and is open to Scouts, guides and other visitors on a daily basis.
Location
The activity centre is located in the centre of the New Forest and well within the national park boundary. It is located off the B3056 and is a mile from Beaulieu Road Train Station, five miles from Lyndhurst and five miles from Beaulieu. The nearest city is Southampton, ten miles away.

Campsites
Ferny Crofts has 27 campsites with a mixture of field and woodland sites. All campsites are within easy reach of water facilities and the amenities block located in the centre of the compound. each campsite has its own concrete fire stand for groups to use throughout their stay. Extra facilities such a Mess Tents, Alter Fires, Gala Tents, Table and Benches, Electric Hookup and key safes can be hired.
Indoor accommodation
The Croft Centre was the original building of the compound. The Croft Centre is a 32 bed accommodation unit with a fully equipped kitchen, 5 unisex wet room showers and toilets, and a spacious Main Hall for dining and indoor activities. Many of the bedrooms boast beautiful views across the site’s woodland, and the whole building is wheelchair accessible. There is a small campsite with a campfire circle next to the Croft which can be used if required. The Croft Centre also comes with the option of being fully catered. The Croft can be booked with the Conservatory as an extension to the Main Hall, adding another indoor activity space or dining area.
The Mountbatten Lodge was an addition to the site and is located close to the activities area and overlooks the fields. The Mountbatten Lodge is a 32 bed accommodation unit, with a fully equipped kitchen and a large Main Hall. The building also benefits from its own toilets and showers. The Lodge has a patio area overlooking our main camping field, and there is a small campsite with a campfire circle next to the Lodge which can be used if required. The Mountbatten Lodge also comes with the option of being fully catered
The Sky High Conservatory is an annex to the Croft that has separate access. It therefore can be hired as an independent unit, or as an extension to the Croft Centre. It has no bed facilities, and toilets are via the nearby amenity block. The Sky High Conservatory is a large 5.5m x 12m room, finished to a high standard and benefiting from underfloor heating. The room is furnished with tables and chairs, and comes with an option of tea/coffee making facilities, projector and flip chart for meetings. The Sky High Conservatory was named to commemorate the 2007 Everest Expedition, which saw Hampshire Scouts becoming the first ever Scouts to stand on the top of Mount Everest. The Conservatory is ideally suited for use by day visitors or for meetings or conference-style events
The Inca Suite is a 6 bed self-contained unit, finished to a high standard with a sofa, dining table and chairs as well as a fully equipped kitchen and Wet room shower and toilet. The Inca Suite is perfect for Leaders or Teachers on recce trips, or as a base for Leaders with young people on D of E. The building benefits from underfloor heating, and consists of two sleeping rooms, 1 room of 4 beds and 1 room of 2 single beds.
Other facilities
Dilly's Den is a wooden building nearby the Croft, ideal for visitors or campers requiring an indoor space. There is no sleeping accommodation
The Roundhouse is a Gambian roundhouse nearby the lake and a useful base for lake activities. It can also be used in conjunction with a campsite or other group.
The Wood Chapel is located near the Croft and is a miniature chapel for the spiritual.
The Camp Fire Circle is available for all groups on site to use during their stay. It cannot be hired out by individual groups to use.
