Fifeshire Artillery Militia
The Fifeshire Artillery Militia was a British artillery militia regiment of the 19th century. It was based in and named after Fifeshire in Scotland.
Following the Militia Act of 1797, the regiment was raised as an infantry regiment in 1798 as The Fifeshire Militia. At the end of February 1855 it was converted to an Artillery unit, while it was embodied for the Crimean War and being redesignated as the Fifeshire Artillery Militia.
In 1882 became the 4th Brigade, Scottish Division, Royal Artillery.
It was also embodied from April 1859 until September 1860, during the Indian Mutiny. It was also embodied from May to October 1900, during the Second Boer War.
In 1902 it was renamed as the Fife Royal Garrison Artillery . On the creation of the Territorial Force in 1908 the unit was transferred to the Special Reserve Royal Field Artillery. It was disbanded in 1909.Publications
