Queensland
branch of the
Australian Federated Union of Locomotive Enginemen
before entering
politics
. In 1972, he was
elected
to the
Australian House of Representatives
as the
Labor
member for
Lilley
, defeating the sitting
Liberal
MP
Kevin Cairns
. He held the
seat
until his
defeat
by Cairns in
1974
. Doyle
died
in
1984
.
