Geography
Freienbach has an area,, of. Of this area, 40.7% is used for agricultural purposes, while 23.8% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 31% is settled and the remainder is non-productive. The municipality is located on Lake Zurich and stretches from the lake to the Etzel mountain. It consists of the villages of Freienbach, Pfäffikon, Wilen, Bäch, Hurden and the two islands of Lützelau and Ufenau.
