Gérard Vachonfrance He was born on 30 March1933 in Roubaix and died on 31 December 2008. Gérard Vachonfrance was a French physician. He was also a Co-founder of the French Society of Alcoholics. He was with Pierre Fouquet one of the pioneers of alcoholology as a medical discipline. He was a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst open to unorthodox practices such as transactional analysis. It was an unconditional supporter of the discussion groups and mutual assistance.He knew that an alcoholic can find within them a place in human society.
