Born in Woking, Surrey, England, King now resides in South West France. He started playing at the age of nine and during his time in the UK worked with a number of top artists including studio work with Jeff Beck and Joe Lynn Turner. In 2000, he moved to the US after an introduction to Nashville's head of Global marketingBob Sapority at Warner Brothers where he lived until 2005 mainly in New Mexico and started the Making it Count Music motivation program now named A.M.P Inspires, aimed at middle and high school students. King now runs La Foret Studio/Productions where he lives and works on multiple sessions worldwide with a team of writers and musicians. King is an advocate and supporter for the Magix studio software 'Samplitude' which he uses exclusively in the studio.
Rick Hale
Also during this time he worked with Grammy Award-nominated producer and writer Rick Hale, and producer and head of Sound of America Records, Tom Bee. King moved back to Europe at the end of 2005 and set up a studio and small production company working for other artists.
Tour with Joe Lynn Turner
In 2009/10, he played on and co-produced with bassist Andy Robbins two large tours in Brasil with Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow and Deep Purple vocalist Joe Lynn Turner and since then has continued a close connection with Brazil.
In 2011, he partnered with Online Recording Masters in Greece opening more doors to production and recording.
Studio work
Recording many times over the years but from 2011 to the present in his own studio, King has worked on a number of other large original projects as drummer and producer including Achillea, Australian gothic metal female artist Darkyra Black, recording drums, editing and mixing both of her records Dragon Tears and Fool with producer George Boussounis. King has also played and worked on countless tracks for TV and film, as well as some progressive instrumental tracks with Thiago Trinsi and Mike LePond bassist of Symphony X. King works continuously in the studio with music partner Paul Jupe on other multiple sessions for publishing, as well as their main project A.G.D 'A Good Day', a new country music act which had an album released in February 2019, getting multiple radio plays in the UK and Europe including plays from the BBC and Radio Caroline.
Exorcism
King joined the short lived multinational doom metal act Exorcism with guitarist Joe Stump in August 2013, where he met the bassist and musician Lucio Manca. Together Lucio and Garry they have recorded on countless worldwide tracks since then including the released A.G.D 'A Good Day' record and two follow-up singles

King is endorsed by and uses Magix / Samplitude Prox 4 DAW and software in the studio as well as Sabian Cymbals, Vic Firth Drum Sticks, Cosmic Ears, and HansenFutz practice pedals but also uses Sonor Drums, Gibraltar Pedals, Adam Audio and Auratone Monitors and recently became and user of Icon Pro Audio controllers.
