Gayatri Sinha
Gayatri Sinha is an art critic and curator based in New Delhi, India. Her primary areas of research are around the structures of gender and iconography, media, economics and social history. She has initiated Critical Collective, a forum for thinking on conceptual frames within art history and practice in contemporary India.
Gayatri Sinha graduated in English literature and Economics from Calcutta University with a Post graduation in Media Studies Social Psychology and Critical Appreciation, Bombay University.
Formerly, she had been an art critic with The Indian Express, The Telegraph and The Hindu.
Devi Foundation
The Devi Foundation , a registered not for profit organization, was set up in New Delhi in 2003. The Foundation’s leading objectives are the preservation and enhancement of the arts, and support to under privileged woman and children. Through a programme of health camps and direct support to school children the Foundation has attempted to reach out and directly benefit a cluster of villages located outside Lucknow. The Foundation also seeks to support traditional music and various art practices. Its focus has been on the Benaras gayiki with its unique emphasis on a traditional folk ethos.Curatorial projects
