Geelong United Basketball


Geelong United Basketball launched in 2019 with the partnership of Corio Bay Stingrays and Basketball Geelong.
Geelong United operates out of the AWA Alliance Bank Stadium located in the suburb of Belmont in Geelong, with a domestic competition made up of playing Summer and Winter seasons catering for Under 10s through to seniors, and includes a social league.
The club also provides pathways to representative basketball, with teams in the Basketball Victoria Youth League competitions and Big V. Geelong United has links with the Geelong Supercats which fields a team in both the Men's and Women's NBL1.

Club history

Geelong has had two large associations competing for resources over the last 20 years. The objective of this partnership to form Geelong United Basketball is to improve the quality of basketball across all facets within the Geelong Region. Basketball Geelong had a strong club competition with focus on junior programs while Corio Bay had success in adult orientated programs focusing on social basketball competitions.
The first teams put on the floor for Geelong United were those playing in the 2019/20 Season of the with team.
