Geeta Colony bridge


Geeta Colony bridge is the last motorway bridge built across river Yamuna in 2008 in Delhi. It connects Trans Yamuna in the East Delhi with Ring Road near Shanti van.
North, northwest and Central Delhi become more accessible from east Delhi. It also serve the purpose of decongest the 150 year Old Yamuna Bridge and ITO Bridge.
M/S Navayuga Engineering Co.Ltd. has got the contract on 29.12.2004 for an amount of 99.765 crore with A time frame of 36 month.
Geeta Colony Bridge alignment is more suitable to serve the commuters better because of its central locations in respect of population density of the area.
 
560 meter long Geeta colony bridge is having a dual carriageway of 9 meter each, a cycle track and footpath on both sides and a central median verge.The total width of the bridge is 27.1 meter. There are 14 spans at a distance of 40 meter.
In an estimate approximately 50000 vehicle use this bridge from east Delhi but already 2.2 lakh vehicle daily crossing the bridge.
