Georgios Simos


Georgios Simos is a Greek former professional footballer who played as a defender. He is the current manager of Super League Greece club OFI.

Playing career

Born in Ioannina, Simos came through the ranks at Panathinaikos, before being promoted to the senior team in 1999. He later played for Agios Nikolaos, OFI, Chalkidona, AEL, AEK Larnaca, Ionikos, Panetolikos, Ethnikos Piraeus, Kallithea and Rouf.

Managerial career

Simos holds a holds the UEFA Pro Licence. From June 2012 to June 2016, he worked as a youth coach for Panathinaikos. In 2012, Simos worked with the small age groups and one year later, he joined the K15 team. In 2014, Simos worked in the K17 team and from 2015, he was in the K20 team.
In the summer 2016, Simos was then hired as assistant manager for Omonia. He left Omonia along with the rest of the coaching prize at the end of February 2017.
In July 2017, Simos was appointed as the manager of the under-20 squad of AEK Athens. He resigned from his position on 6 February 2019.
On 12 July 2019, Simos was unveiled as the new manager of OFI on a two-year deal after Jaime Vera left the club.
