Germany Creek

Germany Creek is a stream in the U.S. state of Georgia. A variant name is "German Creek". It empties into Lake Strom Thurmond.
Columbia county Georgia was home prior and after the Revolutionary War to brothers Samuel and John Germany. Both were Sons of Liberty and are well known to historians in Georgia. Living nearby was William Few, who featured prominently in the patriot cause.
Some think Germany Creek bears the surname of a pioneer settler, while others believe a large share of the first settlers being German Quakers caused the name to be selected.
