Ghiya Rushidat


Ghiya Rushidat is a Jordanian film, TV and video game music composer based in Los Angeles.

Career

Rushidat was born in Saudi Arabia, and raised in Jordan. She began her career as concert pianist, later on moving to composition. Rushidat attended the Royal College of Music in London, the Conservatoire National de Danse et de Musique de Lyon in France, and Yarmouk University in Jordan.
In 2014, Rushidat moved to the United States to explore her film composition opportunities in Hollywood, she began working on the feature film Pen Of Mirrors.
In 2017 Rushidat won the BMI Pete Carpenter Fellowship, a residency for film, television, and video game composers.
In 2018, Rushidat was the jury member of Le Petit Cannes Film Festival.
In 2019, Rushidat performed at the concert at Carnegie Hall arranged by UN Chamber Music Society of the United Nations Staff Recreation Council on World Arabic Language Day.
