Giovanni Galea


Giovanni Galea is a semi-professional footballer. He currently plays for the Maltese Second Division side Qrendi F.C., where he plays as an Attacker.

Playing career

Sirens F.C.

Galea began his career with Maltese Third Division side Sirens F.C., playing initially in the youth team. In the league season of 2013-14 Maltese Third Division he made his all time goal scoring goals by scoring 44 goals in a single season, making him the record goalscorer in a single season in Maltese football, breaking the record of Danilo Doncic.
The 2015-16 Maltese Second Division was the second best top scorer in the league by scoring 26 goals and making 24 Sirens F.C.. In the last game against Mgarr United F.C. he was suspended, as he got his fourth yellow card against Qrendi. Sirens Supporters consider Giovanni a star player in their club.

Mellieha S.C.

Galea also played with the northern city team Mellieha S.C. in the 2011-12 Maltese Second Division and 2012-13 Maltese Second Division. Overall, he made 37 appearances in the club and scored 19 goals.

Floriana F.C.

Despite a reasonable previous season with Sirens F.C., he joined the Maltese Premier League side Floriana F.C., making him a big experience in the 2014-15 Maltese Premier League. Galea managed to score one goal in 22 appearances.
