The controversy lasted for 12 years and included led to a compromise where parking was "dramatically scaled back" and the placement of the San Francisco Bay Trail, picnic tables, and restrooms would be consulted with the tribe. The two tribes held a celebration of over 100 people with food, song, and dance at the 15 acre park.
