Golden bulbul


Golden bulbuls are any passerine birds in the genus Thapsinillas, of the bulbul family, Pycnonotidae. They are found in the Moluccas, an archipelago in eastern Indonesia. There is only one subpopulation.

Taxonomy and systematics

Formerly known as a single species in the genus Alophoixus, the golden bulbul has since been re-classified into its own genus and split into three separate species in 2008:
