Good News (Kathy Mattea album)

Good News is the first album of Christmas music released by American country music artist Kathy Mattea. It was released in late 1993 on Mercury Records. "Mary, Did You Know?" and "What a Wonderful Beginning" were both covered by Kenny Rogers on his 1996 Christmas album The Gift. "Brightest and Best" is the only traditional song covered here. It won the 1993 Grammy Award for Best Southern, Country or Bluegrass Gospel Album.
Brent Maher produced the album, with co-production from Allen Reynolds on "Christ Child's Lullabye".
