Grand Indonesia Shopping Town


Grand Indonesia is an integrated multipurpose complex at Thamrin Road, Central Jakarta, Indonesia. The complex consists of a huge Shopping Mall, office tower Menara BCA, high end serviced residential tower Kempinski Residences and the five-star all-suite Hotel Indonesia Kempinski. It is located near the Selamat Datang Monument. In January 2017, Forbes recognized Grand Indonesia as one of the top five shopping malls in Jakarta.

Facilities

Grand Indonesia Shopping Town is spread over two main buildings, the West and East Mall, and is linked by a multi-level bridge. The shopping center is spread over eight levels and is divided into three main districts, Specialty Zone, Main Zone and Crossroads of the World.
After an aggressive renovation the cinema complex of the mall, which sprawls over the eighth floor, CGV introduced the new Sphere X studio at the cinema complex. Arguably, it is the largest Sphere X theater in the whole world, which has a huge curved screen as large as a basketball court at 26 x 14 meters and is compatible with 2D and 3D movies. Grand Indonesia also has an area called Crossroads of the World. The area was designed by Legacy Entertainment. This area was divided into 4 Districts, there are Entertainment District, Garden District, Market District, and Fashion District. In 2010 all Market District has been demolished to make way the new tenant in that location. But in 2019 all district in Crossroads of the World have been demolished to give a new tenant place, only few remnants was left on the zone. Except for Fountain Atrium at West Mall 3A Floor where Magic Fountain Show was located, a fountain of dancing and singing that is performed daily with performances, music, colorful lights, and fountain dancing following the rhythm of the song. This fountain is made by a company from Florida, namely Waltzing Waters. The show happened every 2 hours on the weekend.
