There were 1,200 households out of which 27.10% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.70% were married couplesliving together, 7.40% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.60% were non-families. 30.10% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.30% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The county population contained 24.20% under the age of 18, 5.70% from 18 to 24, 23.30% from 25 to 44, 30.80% from 45 to 64, and 15.90% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 43 years. Of the 1,417 households, 19.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.3% were married couples living together, 5.7% had a female householder with no husband present, 35.7% were non-families, and 29.5% of all households were made up of individuals. The average household size was 2.14 and the average family size was 2.63. The median age was 52.1 years. The median income for a household in the county was $36,052 and the median income for a family was $47,685. Males had a median income of $41,307 versus $23,958 for females. The per capita income for the county was $23,222.
