Grau Province


Grau Province is one of the seven provinces of the Apurímac Region in Peru. The capital of the province is the city of Chuquibambilla.
The province was named after the naval officer Miguel Grau Seminario.

The province measures and is divided into fourteen districts:
The people in the province are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population learnt to speak in childhood, 18.17% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language and 0.22% using Aymara.
