Greenland (European Parliament constituency)


Prior to its secession from the European Community in 1985, Greenland was a European Parliament constituency for European elections.

Elections

1979

The 1979 European election was the first election to the European Parliament. The vote was held on 9 June 1979. The eligible electorate was 29,188. Finn Lynge of Siumut was elected.

1984

The 1984 European election was the second election to the European Parliament. The vote was held on 14 June 1984, and the eligible electorate was 34,653. Finn Lynge was re-elected.
When Greenland seceded from the European Community on 1 January 1985 Lynge's seat was transferred to the Danish Socialist People's Party.
