. It was surveyed by the
Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey
in
December 1960
and was named by the
UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee
for Peter H. Grimley of FIDS, a geologist at
Horseshoe Island
and
Stonington Island
in
1960
.
