Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey
. It was named by the
UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee
in
1959
for
Theodore Hamblin
, an
English
optician
who in the 1930s helped in the
evolution
of the first satisfactory
snow
goggle
design
.
