Harrison Middleton University
Harrison Middleton University is a not-for-profit private distance-learning university offering Master of Arts, Doctor of Arts, and Doctor of Education programs in the humanities. Like a handful of traditional, bricks and mortar liberal arts colleges, Harrison Middleton University focuses its scope on the teachings of the Great Ideas and Great Books.
In addition to degree programs, Harrison Middleton University offers continuing education units in humanities.
Harrison Middleton University was founded in 1998. They are nationally accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission, which is recognized by the United States Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. On September 20, 2017, DEAC was granted renewed recognition as an accreditor from the United States Department of Education for a period of five years.
DEAC. On June 25, 2015, Harrison Middleton University was approved by the Arizona SARA Council to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements. NC-SARA is a voluntary, regional approach to state oversight of postsecondary distance education http://nc-sara.org/states/az. Its office is located in Tempe, Arizona.
Harrison Middleton University partnered with the Great Books Foundation on the publication of Great Ideas in Popular Culture, three anthologies on music, film, and television: Sound Bites: Big Ideas in Popular Music; Double Features: Big Ideas in Film; and Tube Talk: Big Ideas in Television.
