Hassan Marican


Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican is a former Chief Executive of Petronas. He is currently a Member of the Council of Eminent Persons of Malaysia and the president of Khazanah Nasional Berhad.

Early life and education

Tan Sri Hassan was born in Sungai Petani, Kedah on 18 October 1952. He studied in Malay College Kuala Kangsar in 1971.

Career

Tan Sri Hassan Marican was a partner of an accounting firm named Hanafiah Raslan & Mohamed from 1981 to 1989.
Tan Sri Hassan was the CEO of Petronas Nasional Berhad from 1989 till 10 February 2010. He was appointed by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as a Member of the Council of Elders of Malaysia along with Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz, Tun Daim Zainuddin, Robert Kuok and Professor Jomo Kwame Sundaram in 2018. He was appointed a Director of Khazanah Nasional Berhad on July the same year. Tan Sri Hassan is also the Senior Advisor of Temasik International Advisors, the Chairman of Sembcorp Marine, the Director of the Regional Economic Development Authority of Sarawak.
