Headquarters South West (United Kingdom)


Headquarters South West is a Regional Point of Command unit of the British Army.

History

The regional headquarters role was assigned to 43 Brigade at Jellalabad Barracks, Tidworth, until December 2014 when the brigade was co-located with 1st Artillery Brigade.

Role

Among the unit's responsibilities is the organising of the annual Ten Tors walking challenge on Dartmoor. It also works with Wiltshire College, Wiltshire Council and other organisations to provide employment training for spouses and adult dependents of Army personnel.
