Helen John

Helen John was one of the first full-time members of the Greenham Common peace camp, who worked "fearlessly and relentlessly" to undermine the British and US military for 30 years. "She has broken into and damaged top-security establishments, stood against Tony Blair for parliament, and been assaulted by policemen; she has regularly been arrested and imprisoned".
In 2012 a documentary web series, Disarming Grandmothers was released which looks at the lives of Helen John and fellow campaigner Sylvia Boyes, from their 'trial for terrorism' when they trespassed into RAF Menwith Hill to their family life.

Death

Helen John died in Bradford on 5 November 2017, aged 80, after a period of ill health.
