Its range includes Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, India, Socotra Island, N Somalia, Sudan, Ethiopia, and Eritrea. The type locality is Insel Massaua, Abessinien.
