Higashikagawa, Kagawa


Higashikagawa is a city located in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan.
As of May 2017, the city has an estimated population of 31,753 and a population density of 210 persons per km². The total area is 153.19 km².
The modern city of Higashikagawa was established on April 1, 2003, from the merger of three towns from the eastern part of the former Ōkawa District: Hiketa, Ōchi and Shirotori. Ōkawa District was dissolved as a result of the formation of Higashikagawa.
Higashikagawa is famed for its wasanbon production.
