Highline Bridge (Kansas City, Kansas)


The Highline Bridge is an elevated railroad bridge over the Armourdale district of Kansas City, Kansas.
It was built in 1917 and is owned and operated by the Kansas City Terminal Railway
It crosses the Kansas River at the eastern part of the bridge, and has thru-truss spans over the Kansas River.
The rest of the bridge is a deck truss about one mile long, and goes north to east in direction.
The thru-truss that cross the Kansas River have lift jacks to lift it during floods.
