History of cricket in Zimbabwe from 1992 to 2006 This article describes the history of cricket in Zimbabwe from the 1992–93 season until the end of the country's involvement in Test cricket in 2006.Events Zimbabwe was elected to full membership of the ICC in 1992, and played its inaugural Test match versus India at the Harare Sports Club on 18–22 October 1992 . The match was drawn, and thus Zimbabwe became the first team to avoid losing its inaugural Test match since Australia beat England in the very first Test in 1877. The main domestic competition is the Logan Cup which has a long history but which did not acquire first-class status until the 1993–94 season.Cricket in Zimbabwe was severely impacted by the country's political situation in the early years of the 21st century and the situation has become critical since 2005.
