Lowell started his career on the nationals as a sports reporter in 2017 for the i newspaper. He led the paper's coverage of the IAAF world athletics championships later that year and was shortlisted for Young Sports Writer of the Year at the British Sports Journalism Awards.
Lowell started covering national politics in the United States in 2019. He has written for The Independent and The Telegraph about news surrounding the Mueller report and the impeachment inquiry against Donald Trump.
