Hyundai N

The Hyundai N marque represents the high-performance division of cars produced by Hyundai. The "N" is in reference to The Namyang R&D Center in South Korea, where Hyundai and Kia test many of their new vehicles. The first N-branded vehicle was the i30 N, which debuted for the 2017 model year.

History

Hyundai N debuted in December 2013 accompanied with the unveiling of Hyundai's 2014 WRC Participant vehicle and the official N logo. In 2014, former head of the BMW M performance division Albert Biermann was hired as Executive Vice President. The Hyundai High-Performance Vehicle & Motorsport Division was established in 2018, with Thomas Schemera appointed as Vice President and Biermann as President.
