Ibrahim Ben Ali


Ibrahim Ben Ali was a soldier, physician and one of the earliest American settlers of Ottoman origin.
Ben Ali was born in Turkey in 1756, he served in the Turkish army as a doctor. Following his release from capture during the Russo-Turkish War, he eventually emigrated to the United States to practice as a physician. He contracted yellow fever during an outbreak and died in 1800. He was the grandfather of lawyer and investor James Ben Ali Haggin.
