India House (Colombo)
India House, located at 36-38 Galle Road, Colombo, is the official residence in Colombo for the Indian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka.
The building was built in 1927 for the Imperial Bank of India and purchased by the Indian Government in 1956. It is a colonial style villa/bungalow, with large gardens located along Thurstan Road, once part of the Alfred house estate. It is guarded by personnel from the Border Security Force.
