Indonesian Army Intelligence Centre


The Army Intelligence Center is one of Central Executive Agencies under Army HQ and reported to Chief of Staff of the Army. Pusintelad is in charge of army intelligence activities to support the army's main duties.

History

During Indonesian War of Independence, intelligence activities was conducted by intelligence staff bureau within Indonesian National Armed Forces HQ to provide information for both government and military. Around 1950 and along with development of Army's organization, intelligence function introduced within Army's HQ with the name of Army's General Staff I, which consist of 3 bureau. In 1964, Army's General Staff I officially become Army's intelligence agency and there are name changes throughout 1964 until 1997. In 1997, the name of Pusintelad is officially used.
