Information Card Foundation
In June 2008 an independent non-profit organization, Information Card Foundation, was created. The ICF consists of Steering Community board members and Steering Business board members. Some of the businesses include Equifax, Google, Microsoft, Novell, Oracle Corporation and PayPal. The foundation created the Information Card, which is a digital identification card to prove who you are. The purpose of the Information Card is to supply certified proof of who you are to online merchants or businesses, and to aid in identity protection for the user.
